Porto Plomari, following a complete makeover, operates as a five-star hotel, restoring and bringing to the forefront the important value of a former industrial complex, as a point of reference and landmark in Plomari, making it a central point for development and growth in the area.

The former industrial complex was built at the end of the 19th century, and operated as a kernel oil refinery until 1974.

Its primary use was modified multiple times, as it initially operated as an olive oil refinery and then as a soap factory with export activity extending to Marseille, until it ended up as a kernel oil refinery in 1910. In 1987 it was declared a building of significant heritage value with exclusive use for tourism purposes.
